The Kentucky Derby begins on May 7th. Attending the Derby has been on my Bucket List for a long time and hopefully one of these years I'll be able to make the trek to Churchill Downs.
As a young girl, my great grandparents owned race horses and I have very fond memories of going to the race track and watching the horses run. My dad would always let me help him choose which horses to bet on -- he would choose any horse with "red" in its name and I would choose any jockey wearing a pink jersey! Not exactly a science, but lots of sweet memories!
Until I make it to the Derby, I'll dream of the preppiest of dresses and donning the most fabulous hat, all with an ice cold mint julep in hand!
