Life Lately...

Life is really, really good!

I feel like I am on top of my work. Hubby and I finished fixing up the little rental house we bought. We actually relaxed yesterday!

I am finally feeling a sense of work/life balance. 

I only hope this isn't some erie calm before the storm... ha ha!

Here is a glimpse of my life lately...

 Worked in the yard last weekend! Loved getting my hands dirty and planting flowers. 

The finished back splash that we were working on!

Popped into my local Kendra Scott store to celebrate their Summer 2016 Collection. 

The party was hosted by San Antonio blogger, Tori Johnson, of thesTORIbook.

I picked up these fabulous earrings with some left over birthday money.

Life Lately...

Life has been incredibly busy, but also incredibly wonderful. I love when the time changes and the days get longer, and we've been having very nice weather in San Antonio! The high is 88 today! 

Here is a brief update of my life lately....

I am "Auntie M" again! Hubby's brother and his wife just had a little baby boy!

Hubby and I are remodeling a little rental we just bought. This weekend we put up a tile back splash. 

I updated my seasonal decor just in time for Easter. 

I found this adorable printable on the blog Hymns and Verses.

Life Lately...

Happy Friday! Congrats! We made it through the first work week of 2016! Woo hoo!

Just a few photos, links, and thoughts I wanted to share with y'all!

I love this photo. I snapped it a few months ago while Hubby and I were taking a stroll on the River Walk. The air was crisp, the sun was setting, and we found a few moments to escape from the crazy work day. 

I'm currently obsessed with these shoes!

Interesting article on a case regarding surrogacy and a woman's right to choose. The legal, moral, ethical, and religious issues are weighty. 

I think I need these earrings.

Life Lately...

Wow! That was a hiatus! 

Life has been so busy. 

Work has consumed every moment of our lives, as Hubby and I prep for a jury trial come the first week of January. 

While things have been hectic, I did make time to send out our Christmas cards and decorate the tree. 

We created our cards at SnapFish and used a photo from our trip to Washington D.C.

We just have a little faux four foot tree. It is perfect for our little living room.

Those chairs were given to me by my Grandparents when I started law school. 

These vintage beauties were in my grandparent's formal living room and were only sat on at Christmas time when my Oma and Opa would sit on them to pass out presents. 

Another reason we are so crazy busy... we bought a little fixer upper investment property and have been spending any "free time" we have working on renovations. 

We started by ripping out all of the nasty, old, brown carpet.

Life Lately...

Happy Friday, y'all! What a week!

I thought I'd share a few snapshots of my life as of late...

My rose bushes are in full bloom! I love being able to go in my backyard and cut some fresh flowers!

Hubby and I had friends over a few weeks ago and served this antipasto plate as an appetizer. Meats and cheeses are from Trader Joe's!

Oh! Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes from Crush Cakes! I love you! My must have Santa Barbara indulgence!

I love the River Walk in the morning before all of the tourists get down there. We've had a relatively mild summer so far, which is why everything is still so green!

Hubby and I have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us, starting tonight with Mary Poppins at the Woodlawn Theatre!

Life Lately...

Life has been really, really good lately! No complaints here! Super busy with work and home improvement projects, but I'm busy with stuff I love doing - so its great!

Here are a few photos of what I have been up to lately. 

Hubby got sick during our last trip to Santa Barbara, so I had some alone time while he slept off his ailments. After wandering State Street and smelling every candle in Anthropologie, I made my way to Crush Cakes for a Mexican Hot Chocolate. I lazily read (currently reading The Royal We) and sipped away at the amazing chocolate-y goodness above!

How adorable are these post cards? I found them in the greeting card aisle at my local grocery store and I am obsessed! They are made by Studio Ink, which is owned by Hallmark. They are so fun to send out! I am also crazy about this card! I sent the "Nice Buns" card to my cousin and the "You're Sizzlin'" card to Kir.

Stumbled upon this gem while going for a walk near Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara! The photo does not do this front yard justice! So many pigs! Ha ha!

Back in March, Kir and my parents met Hubby and me in Santa Barbara for the weekend. We had such a fun time visiting with family and seeing our sweet niece! Love her!

On a recent trip back from Santa Barbara, we decided to swing by Las Vegas and take in a show! We saw Cirque de Solei Michael Jackson One. It was amazing to see all of the performers doing tricks on stage to Michael Jackson's music!
