Four Year Wedding Anniversary...

I cannot believe that today is my four year wedding anniversary.

On one hand it feels like it was just yesterday that we were saying "i do," while on the other hand, it feels like we have been married forever -- as in, I can't remember life without my Hubby!

Here are a few of my favorite photos from our wedding day!

For Your Viewing Pleasure...

Happy Weekend Y'all!

I can't believe summer is almost here! It is definitely getting hot and humid in San Antonio! All I want to do is to float on a raft in the pool! Sigh! I'll be spending the weekend studying and fighting a cold, but here are some fun links that have been on my radar lately!

Check out these incredible wedding photos of a couple whose wedding was affected by a wild fire in Oregon -- The photographer is a fellow Westmont College graduate!

Speaking of weddings! Hubby and I celebrated 2 years this week! Check out some of our photos here

Obsessed with this bathing suit from J. Crew! Anyone tried out high waisted bottoms? I'd love some feedback!

Can't wait to try this Watermelon Lemonade Recipe! How delish does that sound!

When I was in South Carolina last week (details to come) Lilly Pulitzer was everywhere! I love all the fun patterns and prints! Carly from The College Prepster is giving away some fabulous Lilly products! Click here to enter!

Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? I'd love to hear all about it!

Wedded Bliss...

Two years ago today hubby and I said "I do" and embarked on this crazy journey called marriage. We've certainly had some ups and downs, but it is safe to say that I am more in love with this man than I was two years ago - and that is  success in my book!

Our wedding day was beyond perfect, so I thought I would share photos from our special day with y'all, as well as my favorite tips and tricks for hosting a gorgeous, budget friendly, wedding!

We got married at the beautiful Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, California. We chose to get married on Sunday morning, which is far less expensive than a Friday or Saturday evening.

My dress was from Alfred Angelo.  When I went to try on dresses the sales woman told me that she had a few samples from a couple years prior. I tried this dress on and fell in love with it. I was head over heels for it when she told me it was on sale for $99.99.

My hair clip was from Etsy and my mom made my veil! (Veils are ridiculously expensive so I was grateful my momma was able to cut some tulle and attach it to my super sparkly hair clip!)

My flowers are... (brace yourself)... FAKE! I was dead set on peonies, but didn't want to pay their expensive price tag! My mom and I had a DIY afternoon and made all of the bouquets. We ordered the silk floral blooms from AFloral. I love that I still get to enjoy my wedding bouquet; it is in a vase in my office!

My mom is uber talented - she hand beaded the top of my dress for some added bling!

Mother daughter photo time!

I loved my wedding dress! I felt like a princess!

How gorgeous is the front of the Grand Island Mansion!

Me and my girls! Such a fun time with friends and family! The Bridesmaid dresses are also Alfred Angelo. Kir is standing right next to me! I let the girls where whatever silver shoes they wanted. I made them each pearl drop necklaces and gave them to them as their gifts.

How handsome is my hubby! His boutonniere is also faux - another DIY from AFloral! His tie is from the Tie Bar.

We gave the groomsmen ties from the Tie Bar as well. Their Gerber daisy boutonnieres came out to under $2 a piece!

Special moment with my dad right before the ceremony!

We're married!

The gangs all here!

For favors, Hubby and I made seed bombs for our guests to take home and plant! We included a little tag that said "Let Love Bloom!"

I searched everywhere for a vintage bride and groom salt and pepper set to top our cake. I finally found one on Etsy.

Our first dance was to Train's "Marry Me."

I hope you enjoyed looking at my wedding photos as much as I did! It really was the most beautiful day!

What to Wear This Wedding Season

Wedding season is upon us y'all! Not sure what to wear? Here are a few ideas to get you started on what you'll want to wear to all of the festivities!

What to Wear to a... Bridal Shower

A conservative sun dress is always appropriate for a bridal shower! Punch it up with some fun accessories like this teal statement necklace. Wedges are a great alternative to heels especially if the party will be held on the lawn.

What to Wear to a... Rehearsal Dinner

If you were invited to the rehearsal dinner, more than likely you are a member of the wedding party and are coming to the dinner from the rehearsal. You'll want to wear something comfortable, yet classy, especially if you'll be helping with any set up  at the rehearsal.  Bring the shoes you'll be wearing to the wedding with you to the rehearsal -- sometimes the wedding coordinator will pair bridesmaids with groomsmen based on height.

What to wear to... a wedding

My philosophy is, as long as you're not wearing white or a big poofy ball gown, anything is fair game for a wedding! If the invitation doesn't give you instructions for your attire (ie. cocktail, black tie, formal..) you can always Google the venue. Is the reception at a country club? A church? A museum? You should be able to get an idea of how fancy you should dress based on the venue. Still confused? Ask the Maid of Honor or another close friend of the bride.

Anyone have upcoming wedding festivities to attend? What are you wearing? I'd love to know!

5 Unique Lingerie Shower Gifts -- That Won't Break The Bank

Wedding season is upon us, folks! And if you've been invited to the Lingerie Shower, you've probably also been invited to the engagement party, the bridal shower, the bachelorette party, and the wedding! Heck! You may even be a bridesmaid! All the festivities, while really fun, can take a tole on the ol' pocketbook!

When you get your lingerie shower invite, try and figure out how many people have been invited. If the bride is depending on her five closest friends to stock her up with some sexy lingerie, then you may want to go the more traditional gift giving route. However, if lots of girls have been invited, I'd say it is safe to stray a bit!

Here are some wallet friendly, unique, and far more user friendly lingerie shower gifts!

5 for $26 Victoria Secret Panties: Still a fairly traditional lingerie shower gift -- but as a married woman, I can promise you - these will get a lot more use then that $75 lacy bustier.  Any bride would be more than happy to have a new pair of panties for every day of her honeymoon.

Here Comes the Bride Philosophy Gift Set: Perfect little lotion and shower gel set for the bride who likes to pamper herself. And if you haven't smelled this stuff -- it is blissful!

Mr & Mrs. Luggage Tags: Adorable luggage tags for the traveling couple! I love that these say "Mr." and "Mrs.," as opposed to "Bride" and "Groom," so they can be used for more than just the honeymoon!

Battery Operated Votive Set: For the bride who likes to set the mood with candles, this battery operated votive set is perfect to take on her honeymoon.

Monogrammed Make-Up Bag: Have this adorable make-up bag embroidered with the Bride's new monogram! A gift that is sure to be appreciated! You can even fill it with sample sized versions of the bride's favorite shampoo, lotions, and body washes.

Retro Apron: How adorable is this! Gift this apron with a pair of panties and instruct the bride to cook a meal in just this little ensemble.

Do y'all have any other unique lingerie shower gifts? Be sure to comment below!
