Exotic Teakwood

This fragrance is a unisex scent, and its woodsy and masculine notes make it perfect for both men and women. This perfume starts out with base notes of sandalwood (one of my favorite scents), amber, patchouli, and musk, followed by the lingering scents of pine, bamboo, spruce, fir, and teakwood. This is a complex fragrance and is ideal for the upcoming winter months.

Scent-sational Gift Ideas Day #3: Via Naturelle's Innocence & Snow White Retold

Today is Day #3 of our “Scent-sational” gift ideas series! We have been quite spoiled sampling all of these fabulous fragrances and today’s review of Via Naturelle proves to be no exception!

Via Naturelle prides itself on using natural ingredients and essential oils instead of harsh fragrances filled with additives and chemicals we can’t pronounce. 

We had the opportunity to try two incredible scents that transport the senses straight to a fairytale filled with princes and princesses, evil witches, and fields of flowers for miles and miles. These fragrances evoke emotions and will make any woman feel beautiful and confident. 

Innocence:

This fragrance is the softer of the two we sampled. It smells like a bouquet of carnations mixed with spices, which makes for a unique floral scent. Because of the spicy notes, the floral is not too sweet, providing the perfect balance. 

This fragrance is ideal for any floral lover and for those who prefer a delicate fragrance. Kir really enjoyed this perfume and thinks it is light enough to wear on a daily basis. 

Snow White Retold:

This perfume was Meg’s favorite and chronicles Snow White’s journey from “once upon a time” to “happily ever after.”

This fragrance starts out with notes of crisp apple, much like the poison apple that brought Snow White into her deep sleep. A light, fresh floral scent follows, like a kiss from a handsome prince! Lastly, vanilla emerges as the perfume continues to warm with your body heat – a truly happily ever after moment. 

This perfume is truly intoxicating and is fit for any princess or princess at heart on your gift list!

Scent-sational Gift Ideas Day #1: Maddieloos' Lavender Sage & Lime Ginger Musk Perfume

Getting a new bottle of perfume for Christmas is always one of my favorite gifts. It is the scent for the upcoming New Year – the way you’ll smell for 365 days – 8,765.81 hours – 525,949 minutes! Okay – I’m being a little melodramatic, but SERIOUSLY! One’s scent can be a big turn off (or turn on!) 

I wanted to let you all in on a little secret – the best scents aren’t located behind glass counters at high end department stores. Nope! The most fabulous fragrances are being concocted in the homes of artisan perfume artists around the country. Small Town Sisters has tested some incredible perfumes and will be reporting our favorites all week long! Let’s get started!

If you haven’t heard of Maddieloos, get on your computer right now and check out this shop! Handcrafted in Washington, this shop owner offers 65 different fragrances, bottled in 1/3 ounce bottles with a roll on applicator. The bottle is packaged in a little card board container, complete with label and adorable decorative washi tape!

 

These perfumes are created with organic sunflower oil, fragrance, and essential oil – no Phtalate, alcohol, or DPG! Sounds good to me! And at $6.50 a bottle, you can afford to try as many scents as your heart desires!

I had the opportunity to try Lavender Sage and Lime Ginger Musk! What an incredible scent! At first, the most powerful notes are lavender and lime, which make for a refreshingly therapeutic combination. The lime energizes, while the lavender soothes. After a few hours the scent of sage sets in and provides a bit of aromatherapy for my afternoon work load at the office. A hint of ginger lingers from beginning to end. This scent is long lasting – so if you’re worried that hand crafted perfumes won’t be strong enough – have no fear – Madieloos will keep your smelling “scent-sational” all day long! 

Some other scents that sound tantalizing include: rosemary mint and lime, bourbon vanilla bean and chocolate, and lemon freesia and Hawaiian wedding flower!

Our New Fall Fragrance -- Pumpkin Pie and Lavender Solid & Roll-On Perfume from Urbbody

We normally don’t stray from our tried and true fragrances, but when Cate from Urbbody offered us the opportunity to try her Pumpkin Pie and Lavender Perfume, we didn’t think twice! With the marriage of spicy pumpkin pie and sweet aromatic lavender, who wouldn’t want to smell this tantalizing! This fragrance comes in a solid and a roll-on perfume. Meg tried the roll on; Kir tried the solid… 

Roll-On Perfume

To me, the smell of pumpkin pie is the epitome of fall – it embodies cooling temperatures, the changing color of leaves, firesides, and family. The scent of lavender reminds me of my mom – we always had lavender growing in our yard growing up and she would make dried lavender sachets to tuck in our drawers. The combination of the two in this roll on perfume is intoxicating! At first roll the scent has strong lavender top notes with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Throughout the day though the pumpkin pie and spices make a debut and linger about on wrists, earlobes, and necks. This is my current go to fragrance and I will be wearing it for the rest of autumn!

 The rollerball perfume glides on skin effortlessly, while the fragrance absorbs quickly without leaving any trace of a sticky residue. The packaging is clean, simple, and professional. I’m looking forward to trying some of Urbbody’s other products in the future!

Solid Perfume

This Pumpkin Pie and Lavender Solid Perfume is perfect for Autumn. It smells warm and inviting with a hint of pumpkin pie and lavender. What more do you want during this time of year. Not only does this solid perfume smell amazing, but this scent of Pumpkin and Lavender are the top "arousing" scents to (straight) men (time to cuddle *hint hint). This wonderful perfume is handmade with beeswax, lavender essential oil, fragrance oil, vitamin e, and meadowfoam oil. My husband absolutely loves this smell!

Now if you're like me and never used a solid perfume before do not get turned off! I was a little skeptical at first just because I had never tried any solid perfume, but I am actually thinking I prefer a solid perfume over a spray now. Don't be afraid, I promise you will enjoy it! 

This product is perfectly sized to carry in your purse without taking much space!

This perfume is so soft without any leftover oily residue!
