Painted Cabinets

Hubby and I are toying with the idea of having our kitchen and bathroom cabinets painted. Right now they are a medium tone natural wood color. I love, love, love white cabinets for a kitchen, and I am thinking of shades of gray for the bathroom. 

I'm not sure if we'll pull the trigger, but I've been trolling Pinterest for ideas nonetheless.

I'm loving the idea of a lighter, brighter kitchen and more luxurious and serene bathrooms! What do y'all think? Has anyone painted their cabinets or had them painted? I'd love to know if you are happy with your new cabinets!
