Easter Week
As we enter this holy week, may you take a moment to truly reflect on the significance of these upcoming days and thank the Lord for sending his Son to die so that we may live.
Palm Sunday
The day when Jesus road into the city on a donkey, well knowing that the people who were shouting his name and laying down palm branches would soon be shouting "Crucify Him" in the coming days.
Good Friday
Not a very good day for Jesus, but he new God's plan and trusted his father. It is a good day for Christians because it was a fulfillment of one prophesy that needed to happen in God's ultimate plan to save His children.
Easter Sunday (Resurrection Sunday)
What a joyous day! Jesus has Risen! Remember to be thankful that without this ultimate sacrifice and resurrection from the grave we would not be saved. We would forever be living in sin without a chance to come before our Lord and confess and lay our burdens on Jesus.

You Are What You....
In a world full of sin, we are constantly having "sinful things" thrown at us. Every direction we turn there are things that are distracting us and turning mankind farther and farther away from God.
Hailey is beginning to "speak", more like coo. It is the most precious sound and I absolutely love to hear her sweet voice. That being said, I know that as she continues to develop and pick up on things, this will put me even more in the spot light. Whatever I say, or do she will mimic. Which is why I decided on this title, not only for the sake of those who are parents and our children are watching us, but everyone who is a follower of Jesus should be not of this world.
Remember as you go through your day:
You are what you _______________
Speak
Watch
Listen
Eat
Read
Think
...anything that goes inside your body and mind is ultimately who we are and what we produce.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
We hope everyone is having a fabulous day, filled with friends, family and lots of happy memories!
It is our prayer that today we can put aside all the distractions this season brings, and remember the true meaning of Christmas; that our Lord and Savior came to Earth as a baby to save us from our sins.
XOXO

Rejoice in the Sound
One of my favorite things to do is listen to different types of Christian Music. Of course I like listening to K-Love and Air-1 but just like with any other station on the radio, those songs get overplayed and overplayed.
I found this artist when we were searching for music for our wedding last year. I love her sound and her new renditions on old Hymns.
My husband bought me her CD Hymn Project: Volume 1 and I absolutely love listening to it!! Chelsea Moon is awesome! Check her out!
Here is one of her songs that has become my favorite over the years.
Listening to christian music not only helps me (especially in the mornings) getting a good start on my day and putting me in a good mind set, but it also changes my focus onto God.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16 (ESV)
Enjoy!!

My Lighthouse
One of my favorite things that my hubby and I do on Sunday mornings before we go to Church and even on occasion throughout the week, we put on worship music. I love hearing him sing praises to God while I'm getting ready and he is in the living room. What a wonderful blessing my husband is! One of our new favorite songs is My Lighthouse by Rend Collective. We love their sound and listening to this song, it often ends up in us dancing around our apartment together!
Check it out!
Rejoice this week!

Let's Be BOLD
I recently took youth kids from our church to Winter Camp. It was such an amazing weekend spent with believers and kids learning more about God. The theme for camp was Bold. The speaker discussed how to be a disciple and not just a christian living in our little bubble, but going out and being bold for Christ; praying boldly, speaking boldly, and living boldly.
One thing that really stuck with me was, as a leader, I am asking my kids to be Bold, at school, with their friends, or even at work. But, how often am I being bold with my prayer, being a disciple and stepping out for Christ. It was a huge turning point for me and God just really spoke to me during this whole weekend to take a look at myself and what I am doing for Him.
I challenge you to step up and be Bold for Christ. Whether it be inviting a friend to church, praying more boldly or showing God's love through your actions.
Be Bold Today!

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you."

Thankfulness
It’s finally Thanksgiving Week! I am so, so, so, so excited!
Hubby and I leave tomorrow morning to visit my family in California! And I am
so ecstatic to see Kir! It has been way too long! I wanted to start off this
week by listing the top 10 things I am thankful for.
10. Passing the
Texas Bar Exam – so thankful for the opportunity to be a lawyer and even more grateful for the fact that women’s
rights have come so far in this country to allow me to pursue a career that used to be dominated by men.
9. The ability
to travel to visit family and friends and see new places – so grateful I get to see my family and super excited to
travel to exotic lands over New Years (more details coming soon)!!
8. Fresh fruits
and veggies, access to food and clean water – luxuries I don’t even really think about.
7. My little
apartment – hubby and I are so lucky to live where we do and pay the rent that we do.
6. Hot running water,
indoor plumbing, and electricity – ya know, all the little things I take for granted everyday!
5. My health –
so thankful that I am healthy and can do all of the things I want to do.
4. My sister –
even though we fight I always know she’s got my back!
3. My Mom and
Dad – so thankful that they raised me to be strong and independent and grateful for their endless love and support.
2. My Hubby –
so thankful for all of his love, support, compassion, sweetness, and sense of humor.
1. God, Jesus,
the Holy Spirit – and so thankful I live in a country where I can worship freely!
What are y’all thankful for this year?

The Plan For Your Life
In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his step.
Proverbs 6:9 NIV
Thinking back to when I was in high school and even in college, I loved having a good solid planner. My weeks were planned out, and I new what I was doing where and at what time. Lucky for me, I quickly learned after my semester of college at Boise State, that often our plans don't work out. That is just what happened. I had gotten a full ride to Boise to play volleyball there and I quickly learned this was not what I expected or what God had planned for me. I believe that this short semester at Boise taught me many things about myself and this was part of God's plan (for me to learn these things about myself and others).
I then transferred over to Bethany University (Scotts Valley, CA), which is a drastic change from a semi large state school to a small private Christian school with about 500 students (on a good day). My transferring of schools is not what I am trying to get at however; we often think that our plans are set in stone or "sharpied" on our calender and are not to be changed. Well, news flash my lovely readers, God has much better plans for us than what we can imagine. We may not understand what is going on at the time but trust in him cause guess what, He knows what He's talkin' about! We often do not see the "big picture" but understand that God was the one who made it, so I think it's safe to say that it's alright if God interrupts you during the day, or changes your path.
Instead of becoming frustrated over every little detour that comes our way (a flat tire, a traffic jam, etc.), allow God to change your plans in order to accomplish His purposes. When we change our heart toward the interruptions in life, this is when they become blessings.
Has God interrupted you lately?
Has God interrupted you lately?
Enjoy.

Thank you Jesus!
Sometimes it is easy to
just lump the members of the trinity together, but each member of the triune
God is distinct and different from the others. While I was reading in 2
Corinthians, I came across a familiar verse which draws a distinction between
God and Jesus:
God made
him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
so that in
him we might become the righteousness of God.
(2 Cor.
5:21)
It is hard to believe
that God created Jesus, his only son, to die on the cross to save me and you
from our sins. And it is even harder to believe that Jesus did in fact die for
us, so that we may have the opportunity to have everlasting life. Every time I
stop and think about that (which admittedly isn’t often enough) it completely
blows my mind! This week I am thanking Jesus for what he did for us and I hope
you will too!
