The Red & White Ball

Last Saturday Hubby and I attended the Red & White Ball benefitting the Blood and Tissue Center Foundation of South Texas.

I posted my favorite black tie affair dresses last week in anticipation of the event.

Ultimately, I chose the red Ralph Lauren gown. This dress is extremely comfortable and the material is thick, which means it will last throughout the years! I love the rich, vibrant red color of the fabric -- although the color is not as bright as it appears online.

Not the best quality of photo -- we were in a major hurry getting out the door, but -- y'all get the general idea! :)

I was chatting with Kir a few days before the event and she asked me what I was going to do with my hair. I am terrible with hair, so I responded "I have no idea -- I guess blow dry it!"

She recommended checking out a local beauty school for an inexpensive up-do. Thanks Kir!

I made an appointment at Paul Mitchell The School and had a wonderful experience. My stylist was energetic and passionate about her future career. I was really happy with the end result and for only $25 it was definitely worth it! I would highly recommend hitting up your local beauty school for a fancy up-do for your next formal event!

It was a fabulous night filled with an amazing dinner, dancing, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

Now I just need to find another event to wear this dress to!

All That Glitters is Gold...

Sorry (again) for the hiatus!

I was out in California last week visiting my family and hosting Kir's baby shower! Pictures to come, very soon! And then this week I was playing catch up in the office. Such is the life of an adult!

Anyway...

My brother-in-law and future sister-in-law are getting married in a little over a month. Hubby is the best man and I am so excited to be a bridesmaid!

All of the bridesmaids are wearing a gold, floor length gown of her choice.

My bridesmaid dress came in the mail this week. And....

IT IS NOT WHAT THE PICTURE LOOKED LIKE!

So yesterday I was scrambling like a mad woman, trying to find another gold, floor length dress!

I managed to find a gorgeous dress, and I think I will actually (hopefully) be able to wear it again! And the price can't be beat!

In my mad dash I found a variety of gold dresses, perfect for the holidays! Enjoy!

And because every gal should have a pair of sequined leggings, right?

I'll let y'all know how the new dress looks when it comes in the mail! Fingers crossed that it will work!

XOXO
