Gardenia Tuberose Soap from Santa Barbara Aromatics

Remember a few weeks ago when I had the opportunity to try the Montecito Candle from Santa Barbara Aromatics? (If you missed it, click here!)

Well, thanks to generous shop owner, Seana, I also got to test drive her amazing Gardenia and Tuberose scented soap!

The soap arrived impeccably packed, wrapped in a cello bag and placed in a pretty organza bag tied with a tag. I love it when artisans use wrapping that can be re-used. It is good for the environment and makes me extra happy!

The soap is a luscious buttery-yellow color and features a little bit of golden shimmer to give it that extra special and glamorous touch.

 

The scent of this bar is intoxicating -- it filled my entire bathroom with the glorious fragrance of gardenia and tuberose. The fragrance transported me to a field of fresh dewy flowers. If Spring had a smell, this would be it! I even found myself smelling my skin throughout the day (don't laugh) and I was still able to pick up on the floral fragrance long after my shower. 

Winter wreaked havoc on my skin, leaving me dry and itchy, but after having used this soap for two weeks straight I have noticed an incredible difference. The soap's rich and luxurious lather left my skin soft and smooth thanks to its coconut, palm, and safflower oils.

 I can't say enough good things about this soap! It is absolutely incredible and such an amazing bath time treat! Be sure to pick one up for a friend or yourself. Your skin will thank you! Santa Barbara Aromatics also creates soaps in sandalwood cedar and honey orange! Both of which sound delicious!

Bathe in Pumpkin-y Goodness - Artisan Soaps from Red Pisces

It has been "lather, rinse, repeat" with the Small Town Sisters this week! And we have loved every second of it! Test driving handcrafted beauty products for our faithful readers is so much fun and sampling all of the pumpkin flavored products has been a real treat!

Our final soap sample for our self proclaimed "Pumpkin Week" comes from Red Pisces, a fabulous shop in Frederick Maryland. Red Pisces features a wide variety of traditional soaps, specialty cupcake shaped soaps, as well as other hand crafted goodies.

The Moist Pumpkin Spice soap is made with real pumpkin, which is apparent from the delicious scent. The soap creates a wonderful lather and left my skin feeling soft, with the subtle smell of pumpkin pie.

The Melted Halloween Cupcake Soap has the most incredible smell! My whole bathroom smelled of spicy orange and licorice! This soap glided on more like a body wash than a soap -- it had a luxurious texture that left my skin feeling super soft. It also left me smelling insanely good! This soap featured cute sprinkles, gold glitter, and a jumbo star anise, making it look like a fancy couture cupcake (without the calories!)

Looks good enough to eat!

I'll Take my Pumpkin Latte with a Loofah! Pumpkin Latte Soap from Horsin Around Soap

I relish every second of my morning shower! It is "me" time -- my own 15 minutes before the phone starts ringing, the e-mails come flooding in, and I have to start answering questions! It is 15 minutes of solitude, silence, and whatever beauty products I decide to indulge in! I am a big fan of artisan soaps, so when Horsin Around Soap offered me a sample of their Pumpkin Latte Soap I was tickled! 

 This soap arrived beautifully packaged with a decorative label!

The soap smells absolutely amazing -- creamy pumpkin, a splash of vanilla, a dash of coffee, and fragrant cinnamon and nutmeg filled my shower! I especially noticed the cinnamon and nutmeg flavors, which are some of my favorite autumn scents. 

 Isn't this bar gorgeous? Love those colors!

This soap provided a wonderful sudsy lather and left my skin soft. I especially liked the fact that the soap featured natural scents, as opposed to artificial perfumes. Horsin Around Soap offers a wide variety of soaps and other bath goodies! At only $4 a bar, I suggest stocking up for the holidays or treat yourself!

Southern Bath Sweets

I recently had the privilege of spoiling myself with some heavenly scented products courtesy of Southern Bath Sweets.

This fabulous Etsy shop specializes in hand crafted beauty and bath goodies that smell divine and sooth the body, mind, and spirit. Hailing from Alexandria, Virginia, shop owner Jenner is a true southern belle who whips up pampering products and treats her clients with the utmost southern hospitality. 

Southern Bath Sweet’s Rose Scented Goat’s Milk Soap reminds me of the rose bushes that flanked the front porch of my parent’s house as a kid. This bubble gum pink hued bar left my skin silky soft with a light scent of rose petals. The soap had a nice lather and made my shower smell like a florist's shop! The elephant soap mold is too cute for words and is perfect for grown-ups and kids alike!

The Ginger and Coconut Oil Face and Body Scrub was a real treat. Made with white cane sugar, freshly saved ginger, 100% organic virgin coconut oil, sunflower oil, fine sea salt, and a touch of lemongrass essential oil, this scrub will have you coming back for more! I used this scrub on my hands and it made them remarkably soft, even after the first use! The main scent I picked up on was the ginger, which is incredibly refreshing. I love the fact that this scrub didn’t leave an oily residue after I used it; just sweet, soft, ginger-licious hands! 

The Garden Hands Salve worked a miracle on my dried and cracked cuticles. I noticed a huge difference after one application. This balm has a subtle lavender and lemon scent. Like the scrub, it too was neither greasy nor oily. This would be the perfect gift for someone who works with their hands! I definitely think I’ll order some for my mom – she would love this!

The Jasmine and Ylang Ylang Body Butter has a sweet floral scent that lingered throughout the day. This butter is perfect for those areas that tend to get dry (think elbows, knees, and heels). This lotion made my skin soft and with the intoxicating aroma, I skipped my daily spray of perfume. I would highly recommend this lotion to any floral lovers out there!
