Month 4

Sorry that I have been lousy at posting this month...last 2 months? Year?! Heck...I don't even know what day it is anymore. Mommy life is still amazing but let me say this...TEETHING SUCKS!

Hailey hasn't had any teeth cut through yet...but we are in the beginning stages of drool, drool and more drool..oh and biting and crying because her poor little gummies are swollen. My poor baby! I feel so bad and let her chew on my hand whenever she wants (except she is really starting to hurt now so I need a new solution). So Mamas help me out!!!!

(don't mind the baby in clothes in the bath tub...this is Hailey's favorite spot)

This is what we have tried so far:

Hyland's Teething Tablets
-she doesn't mind me putting them in her mouth and they seem to at least calm her down after awhile

Baby Orajel Naturals
-again she doesn't mind me rubbing this on her gums, most of the times it doesn't actually stay in her mouth. I haven't noticed a significant difference after she gets this

Sophie la Girafe Teether
-Meg got Hailey this for an Easter present and man does she go to down on this thing. I love that she can actually hold it and she loves gnawing on Sophie (Hubby isn't a fan of the dog like squeaker it has)

Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder
-When I notice that she is hurting pretty bad and nothing seems to be helping, I put a little ice cube in this mesh feeder and she loves to suck on it. It numbs her little gums and keeps her preoccupied for a while (I am starting to freeze breast milk in ice cube trays instead of giving her water so she can have them more often)
*She does get soaked while sucking on this (obviously...it's ice!) so we either put a bib on her or just change her right after

I would love to hear about your teething remedies because we sure could use all the help we can get over here :)

*P.S. Next month it's food time for little missy!

Love,

What's In My Diaper Bag

First off, I absolutely love my diaper bag. I looked the entire pregnancy to find one that I liked. Yes there were many cute ones, with lots of space, that had the backpack straps like I wanted; but many were outside my budget.

My diaper bag: JJ Cole (Grey Floret)

*There is plenty of space for everything (including the bathroom sink). My favorite thing about this diaper bag is the backpack straps (or you can wear it as a messenger bag).

What I keep in my bag: (for an almost 2 month old)

-Diapers (I usually try and always keep 3-4 in the bag)
-Wipes
-2 Burp rags
-Nursing Cover (Bébé au Lait Nursing Cover)
-2-3 Pacifiers
-Desitin (just a small 2 oz tube)
-Extra baby outfit (Just in case Hailey decides to spit up we have extra clothes I can change her into)
-Extra shirt for me (In case she spits up all over me)
-Wallet (I keep everything in a small clutch that hardly takes up any room)
-Hand Sanitizer
-Chapstick
-Mints

Let me know if you think I am missing any important items. Also I would love to know about your diaper bag essentials.

She's Here

Baby girl is finally here! I can't believe it! Motherhood already has its ups and downs (not a whole lot of sleep...which she started me early on with all her kicking in the womb) but man does being a mommy to this wonderful little girl is amazing ALREADY! First off..I think she is pretty cute! Wow that sounds vain but gosh she is just so perfect and gorgeous! Secondly...she is making me a better person. I now have this tiny human depending solely on me. I don't have time to think about myself unless it is for her benefit (like drinking water and eating enough to keep up with all the breastfeeding she does). Thirdly...I didn't think it was possible, but I love my husband even more! He is an incredible father to our little girl! Not only does he send me to take naps during the day (if she is awake or not) but he'll also get up at night if I need help (like if she pooped everywhere and I need back up).

I also just wanted to give you guys a heads up on some funny stuff that you may have heard or not heard about life with a newborn (or at least 3 1/2 weeks with a newborn).

1. You will get no sleep in the hospital
-I was either staring at my precious baby girl (making sure she was breathing) or trying to get         comfortable in the bed, which was impossible

2. Babies are loud
-Miss Hailey Marie makes so much noise! We get to hear her little cooing sounds she makes but on top of that, this kid sometimes sounds like she is the whole animal kingdom (I mean seriously, her elephant and pig imitations are spot on). The hubby and I have busted up laughing in bed listening to her multiple times

3. It is scary taking your newborn home
-In the hospital, even though she was in our room the whole time, I felt safe. If she was doing something weird or I had a question I could ask one of the nurses (since they came in practically every hour anyways). Getting our baby in car seat was difficult enough (she is just so tiny!!!) and then we had to fight off all the other drivers! Talk about nerve wracking! Once we got home we got our first taste of being parents....Hailey projectile vomited all over the hubby. Luckily we could both laugh about it.

4. Sleep when the baby sleeps
   - I have heard this from every veteran mom out there and this has absolutely kept me awake during the late night feedings and random wake ups with Hailey. We have been lucky that she actually is sleeping really well throughout the night (only waking up twice..I'll take it), however there are those random rough nights that we have.

I would love to hear about your tips and tricks or just funny stories about your first month with a newborn.

Happy Napping!

Little Baby Girl

That's right party people! We found out earlier this week that we are having a girl! I am so so excited.

Little Miss Hailey Marie is already so loved by all our family friends and friends and I just cannot wait till she arrives!!!

It's hard to believe we are about 5 months away from meeting our princess. If she is as active as she has been on the inside, I am for sure going to have my hands full when she is here in December!

What I've been going through this month:
-uncomfortable nauseous (but never feeling like I'm going to throw up) as soon as I lay down at night

- migraines practically every other day

-cramps in my calves and feet at night has been super great

-Our baby girl is moving all over the place

-starting to get my appetite back...finally!

We are going on Week 19 and I still cannot believe it! This little girl has my heart and I just cannot wait to hold her!

Our little smokey!

We are so excited to finally announce the addition of baby McGaffee coming December 2014. I am officially 14 weeks pregnant and could not be more excited! I hope to share all the ups and downs of the remaining 6 months of this pregnancy. I have been so blessed not only to have a husband who supports me and my dreams with wanting to be a stay at home mom, but also the fact that God has given us this wonderful gift. I also have been lucky to have yet any morning sickness (which is awesome!!!) and my work is even being super cool and I am now working more in the office taking over staffing and rentals for our Summer Events. Our little smokey (we call the baby that since we honeymooned in the smokey mountains..just a little inside joke between us), has been a stud so far. In my first trimester screening test the baby was in the perfect position to get a good measurement, and the same happened when we got to hear the heartbeat. I am just so so so excited!

So far....

I still can't believe I am pregnant!
In December I am going to have a little tiny human!
I have been craving cold sandwiches
All of our family knows
We are still coming up with nursery ideas
and.....we WILL know the sex as soon as we can :)

Hubby is also super excited and bought our little one their first Buffalo Bills Jersey! (yes we know its huge for a baby)

More pictures and updates to come! I would love to know your maternity must haves!
