Happy Weekend!

Today was quite a day. Hubby and I dealt with a broken hot water heater (that wasn't actually broken), a broken air condition (that really was broken) and a broken down car (my car -- currently in the shop). When it rains it pours? Or something like that, right?

For Your Viewing Pleasure | Week 5

Happy Saturday! We made it to the weekend! Woo hoo!

I am currently in Santa Barbara working and celebrating my 30th birthday!

I can't believe I am going to be thirty on Monday! I'm not upset about it. I don't feel like an old lady. But I do have strange feelings about turning three decades old. I don't remember feeling this way for any of my birthdays in my twenties.

To help me get over my weird vibes about this upcoming birthday, I did a little research on turning thirty...

-- On the Internet --

This article talks about what turning thirty means to different people around the world.

This post discusses things to look forward to in your thirties-- spoiler alert -- having money to travel is apparently one of them!

Turning 30 in 2017 means I am in fabulous company with some iconic records turning 30 too -- Michael Jackson's Bad and Whitney Houston's Whitney are among the list!

Ten Things to Know Before you Turn Thirty is a hilarious article about the realities of turning the big Three - Oh!

A reassuring blurb about how turning thirty doesn't mean you're old

Well those helped a bit...

I thought after the inauguration things might simmer down in the political arena. I was obviously very wrong! Needless to say, I have been avoiding Facebook in order to bypass the never ending political rants and I have been trying to find all things warm and fuzzy to distract from all the negativity! All that to say, this weeks links are light and fluffy....

For Your Viewing Pleasure | Week 3

Happy Inauguration Day!

I found today to be a true depiction of American democracy and I am so proud to live in the United States. Regardless of political party affiliation, it is so important to rally behind the leader of our country and band together as a nation. I am so thankful for the men and women who have, and continue to fight for our freedoms, so we can have the luxury to vote for our leader.

I'm not saying all of this because I align myself with a certain party, I am saying this because I am an American. And as Americans, there is no better time than the present to come together and celebrate this great country.

For Your Viewing Pleasure | Week 2

Happy Weekend! I hope everyone had a wonderful work week and lots of fun plans for the weekend!

Confession -- I have a bad habit of buying beauty products and then never using them! Case in point, the lipstick featured in the photos below! I bought it last summer and it has been sitting in my bag for months!

It is Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in Love. It is a true red -- not too orange, pink, or purple. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

For Your Viewing Pleasure | Week 1

Did y'all make it through the first week of the New Year?

This was a rough week for me, as Hubby and I are both battling nasty colds.

It is also freezing in San Antonio! (Okay -- it is only 34 degrees -- but that is pretty darn close to freezing and it is supposed to drop into the twenties tonight!)

On the Internet...

This week was all about New Year's goals and resolutions....

I'm all about more happiness for 2017, so I loved Lexi from Glitter Inc.'s "5 Ways I Plan to Be Happier in the New Year"

Need help keeping those New Year's Resolutions? Jen from Skirt the Rules has you covered with her post, "How Not to Break Your New Year's Resolutions"

Blair of The Fox and She is ditching resolutions. Instead, she's got seven words to live by in 2017! My personal fave? Simplify!

Hallie from Among Other Things (FKA Corals and Cognacs) is helping you re-energize your workout and wellness goals

On my Wishlist...

Did y'all shop the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale? The "virtual line" was crazy long! I snagged a cute dress that will be perfect for spring! If you missed out this year, don't worry -- the sale will be back in August! (I think the August sale has more styles and prints).

These smoking flats are so dreamy!

This handbag is perfect for Valentine's Day!

Thinking of this top to wear out to dinner on my 30th birthday?!? (Eeek! A month away!)

For Your Viewing Pleasure...

This weekend was cold and dreary! That's okay because I had to take two finals for my masters (I'm working on an LLM in estate planning). I lit tons of candles and enjoyed my festive living room while I studied!

Y'all! I purchased an Elf on Shelf and I am having too much fun with the little guy. Here is what our elf -- Frederick -- has been up to lately...
